It has the body of a chair but the mind of a step ladder

This has to be one of the most inventive pieces of woodwork I have seen in a while.

During a recent visit to the self build show in City West last weekend I stumbled across this little invention.

For normal use, it acts like a solid chair. When required it can flip over and be a step ladder. This can be a real space saver especially for those who would use a step ladder quite often around the house.

The price was €80. From doing woodwork myself from time to time this price is very modest considering the amound of craftsmanship involved.

The €15 meal deal at the Crookstown Inn, Co. Kildare

The Irish always love a good feed and the Crookstown Inn in Co. Kildare is the perfect place to get it. The €15 meal deal has been going on from Monday to Friday but has now extended to Saturday also. It boasts a massive 4 courses (starter, main, desert and a tea/coffee).

The portion sizes are extremely generous and the quality of the food is excellent. Service is fast and efficient and the pub has that homely feed to it. 

If you do happen to be heading down the M9 direction to Carlow or Kilkenny this is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. Just get off at Exit 3 on the M9 and head towards Ballytore.

 

My recent choices from their latest menu included the Pate and toast for starter and the Chicken Maryland for the main. This was nicely finished off with a warm apple crumble. After this massive feed I struggled to finish my pint of Guinness!
